D- Dyeing

D is for Dyeing!  Today I show how to dye fabric in a washing machine and then clean the machine afterward.

  1. Ooo! I need to dye some wool. It's currently a black/light gray houndstooth and I need it to be a black/dark gray houndstooth. My fabric is 100% wool and I've got about eight (eeek) yards of it. Your recommendations?

    1. Wow, throw me an easy one! Black and wool? I'd suggest calling Dharma trading and asking them. Black is tricksy, as is wool, so I'd go with what they recommend as I don't have a lot of experience with either.

  2. I had a teenager once who went through a dyeing clothes phase.

  3. Thank you SO much for making dyeing in the washing machine not quite so scary. I'd always envisioned it as being a horror story waiting to happen but seeing you do it first really helped.

    1. It's really not that bad. I've been doing it since I used military washers in New Orleans.
